Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin in Recent Blog Entries, it support w1
HELLO ! My little brother wants to upgrade his video card ,and NV will release a new card GT 240 in recent days. Therefore, he wants to change his card from 9600GT to GT 240. How you guys think about that ? In my opinion, this card is fine, but he had better wait until the price goes down.

BTW, his equipment is good enough to support this card.

[Valve] Possible L4D2 DLC?

Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin in Recent Blog Entries, it support w1
a few days ago a website appeared with the “Midnight Riders” appearing on the front page. All of you who have played L4D2 know who I’m referring to. Well anyways, the site has been updated recently.

Quote:

You might’ve heard about a lot of bands cancelling their tours this week because of all
the airports shutting down and the government telling people to stay indoors. To that
the Riders say: We’ll stop touring when we stop breathing. What America needs most
right now in its time of trial is MUSIC, and that is one thing the Riders are proud to
provide.

and yes the website is owned by Valve

Help with P5N-D SLI video artifact problem

Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin in Recent Blog Entries, it support w1
I’ve just spent the last few hours reading articles about this problem however none of the solutions i’ve read have helped my situation.

i originally thought it was a memory problem, then i thought that one of my 8800gt’s were defective, but now after all this research im starting to think the board might just outright be defective.

the notorious problem with nvidia 7 series chipsets and video artifacting has plagued my system.

mind you my bios settings are all stock (ram voltage and timings set manually because this board sucks)
the machine would work fine for a while and then start to display green artifacts and lines all over the screen. when it first started, i could make it stop by restarting the pc. after time though, restarting the pc had no effect on the artifacts. more recently, the artifacts will be displayed starting at the POST screen. i can make them go away by loading bios defaults and rebooting however.

after i do that, i will get into windows and mess around for a few minutes and then the artifacts will come back. just now, they actually showed up, disappeared after 3 minutes, everything was fine for 10 minutes (played some video), and then they come back.

i tried running only 2 ram sticks and the system stopped giving artifacts. i ran 3dmark 06 twice with no problems however my second video card was not detected. after a bit of hassle, i got both cards to show up and SLI enabled. upon reboot however, the system was running very sluggish and locked up on me twice. since the bios settings were all auto at this point, i manually set them to what they should be and now XP will hang at the splash screen. safe mode will boot though.

so i went into safe mode and uninstalled all the nvidia drivers thinking its some driver issue thats preventing xp from loading. and when i reboot, boom artifacts are back starting at the post screen. ***!

if anyone knows this board they know it has alot of issues. that being said, i think this board is actually defective. should i RMA it or what?

My new motherboard….. :S

Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin in Recent Blog Entries, it support w1
I just got the new mobo today. Installed it. Im curios as to what this second pcie slot is for?

Its a x4 slot, however.

Heres a picture.

http://i1013.photobucket.com/albums/…CIESlotsII.jpg

UP ^^ There you can see the second slot has visibly less lanes than the first.. It says in the manual under internal I/O: PCI Express x16 and PCI Express x4 slot, both hybrid crossfireX ready and both pcie 2.0 compliant.

Heres another photo of something unrelated. But still on the motherboard none the less.

Well its more a comparison of what i went FROM

Need help with Ratio. (Gigabyte ep45)

Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin in Recent Blog Entries, it support w1
Hey.

I done some fiddling in the BIOS and couldn’t figure out how. That was a week ago. Today I was suffering from BSOD and realized i changed something in the BIOS. FSB:RAM had gone from 1:1 to 5:6 causing my RAM to be overclocked..

I don’t even know what I changed to do that but I want the opposite. I want to Make my FSB larger and keep my RAM running at 800MHZ.

Help. All Gigabyte have at least similar BIOS so if you are experienced with them that is good. :)

Edit: My tweaking thing in my BIOS is called MB intelligent tweaker

Zalman ZM-GWB3 for GTS250?

Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin in Recent Blog Entries, it support w1
Hi

I’m about to get a modest graphics card upgrade to a Palit GTS250 1GB, which I intend to w/c and o/c (and probably SLI in future). I’m battling to find water blocks that actually specify compatibility with the GTS250.

I would like to use the ZM-GWB3 for the GPU and the ZM-RWB1 for the memory.

Will they work? And should I get another memory cooler for the back of the card if my Palit has double-sided chips?

Just post once (and only once, more then one post for what ever reason and you will be removed from the drawing) in this thread and you will be entered, winner will be determined by using a randomizer.org and by post number.

If you are going to enter, please be intent on actually playing the game, I dont want it to go to someone who will only play it for a week :o

I will draw in the next 3-7 days once I think enough people have entered.

Good luck :)
